Global Warming and Climate Change is the biggest environmental issue that we face these days. the long term effects of these environmental changes to a nations economy is quite damaging. there would be a shortage in food supply as well as on water supply too.

I think you're being a little harsh - they said they're "going green", they didn't claim to be 100% carbon neutral or anything absurdly inaccurate, right? They're taking positive steps, we should be encouraging that. Claims about greenwashing should be left to those companies engaged in rampant labeling fraud, not the ones that are taking incremental steps to reduce their impact. What kind of message does it send to a company when they get lambasted for trying to do the right thing? Let them say they're going green, it's not misleading, you're just misinterpreting it.

I was actually thinking about this the other day, I'm glad you brought it up. My company, Green Meetup ( http://www.greenmeetup.com ) markets eco-friendly products and posts them for vendors on our site so people can make eco-friendly decisions. In my soul-searching, I was torn on the following question: am I doing GOOD by helping people find environmentally friendly products, or am I doing HARM by encouraging them to consume instead of reduce? Are we in the green space just contributing to the problem and making things worse? Shouldn't we all just be consuming less, living simpler lives?

Great post! This is a very important site, and as an auctioneer, I'm a huge advocate of going green as nearly everything I sell is an antique, used or recycled product in some way.

Part of my spin is to bring new people into the antiques genre by way of showing them that an antique/vintage item can be the ultimate Green product as there is no production impact on an item that's already made ;)

Keep up the great work, I'll be back.

36 Black Rhinos are expected to be imported from South Africa to Tanzania next month in appreciation of the two countries’ historical bilateral ties. This is welcome news to a country whose Black Rhino population has suffered countless losses at the hands of poachers.

In a recent IRF press release, rhino conservation experts called upon international agencies and the Zimbabwe government to take immediate action against poaching of endangered species and to crack down on trade in wildlife products.

Tackling the situation in Zimbabwe is especially challenging because the rhino poaching in this area is planned and carried out by organized gangs. The attacks have become increasingly brazen - not only are rhinos being slaughtered, but the criminals have begun firing at the people protecting them.
